I am a native Deaf BSL user and acquired BSL by attending Deaf clubs since I was 2/3 years old. I hold a PGCE (Sign Language) from Ulster University.

I am a highly experienced BSL teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience and have taught a wide variety of learners including young children, primary age children, young people, the general public, public sector employees, private sector employees and professionals such as Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People and Speech and Language Therapists.

For the past 8 years, I have specialised in teaching BSL up to Level 6 to parents of young deaf children through Action Deaf Youth. I am passionate about ensuring deaf children have full language access. As part of my work, I also developed a bank of signed nursery rhymes and story books for young deaf children in Northern Ireland to enjoy.

I was awarded Inspirational Teacher of the Year 2023 at the Inspirational Women of the Year Awards in August 2023 hosted by Local Women magazine, having been nominated for this award by two parents of deaf children and a QToD.
