I am a native BSL user, having grown up using British Sign Language as my first language. I have a level 3 BSL qualification, alongside a Master of Arts from Manchester Metropolitan University, a Post Graduate Qualification at the University of Bolton and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Lancashire for Business Information Systems and Criminology.
I have over 20 years’ experience of teaching Deaf Awareness, British Sign Language (BSL) Programme, Public Speaking and BSL level 1 courses. These endeavours have been highly successful, and I have received outstanding feedback from the students.
I have been bestowed 32 national and global awards of recognition for my work. I have experience teaching international students sign languages, which again has been very successful.
My broad work experience expands from Greater Manchester Police, the BBC, National Citizens service, City College Manchester, National Deaf Children’s Society to being the CEO of Deaf Education Advocacy Fellowship (DEAF).
As the Sales Director and Head of UK/International Student Recruitment at Interpreting Solutions 2UK, my current role includes teaching across an array of settings from educational establishments, local authorities, and various workplaces. I am a passionate advocate for bridging the gap between the Deaf and Hearing communities. My teaching is informed by my own lived experience. I guarantee my training to be engaging, rewarding, fun and incredibly interactive.
