I am a qualified British Sign Language tutor with over 25 years’ teaching experience. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in BSL and have completed Level 6 training, alongside teaching qualifications that allow me to work confidently across all age groups.

Over the years I have taught for Adult Education in West Sussex, Chichester College, Northbrook College, and Chichester University, as well as running my own private courses. I deliver Introduction to BSL, Level 1, and Level 2 Signature qualification courses.

My experience includes running a Communication Club for six years, supporting learners with homework groups, practice sessions, signed karaoke, and Deaf community events. I have also worked as a Communication Support Worker (CSW) and in personal support roles, giving me real-world insight into how BSL is used every day. Alongside this, I have more than 10 years’ experience teaching adults with learning difficulties in both educational and care settings.

I currently offer:

Personalised BSL tuition (1–3 learners, online or in-person)

Small group sessions tailored to your pace and goals

Level 1 qualification courses with full exam support

Deaf Awareness training for businesses and community groups

Introductory sessions for Cubs, Brownies, Scouts, and Guides

Short BSL courses for care homes, playgroups, and other settings

Based in West Somerset and covering North Devon, I also teach learners further afield online.
